Department of Social Work and Human Services

The Department of Social Work and Human Services offers an undergraduate degree in Human Services as well as the graduate Master of Social Work. Additionally, the department offers the Child Advocacy certification and the Nonprofit Leadership certificate which are open to both majors and non-majors.

      Representing Academia

      Dr. Lisa Johnson, LCSW, HS-BCP is Vice-President of SafePath Children's Advocacy Centers Board of Directors. She is the first community member representing academia on the Board. She is also the recipient of a $10,000 grant from Help for Children (HFC) in support of her qualitative research project.

      Human Services students were recently visited by Young Southeast Asian Leaders (YSEAL). These students are on a mission to change the status quo in their communities. The NOHS mission is to strengthen the community of human services by expanding professional development opportunities, enhancing internal and external communications, nurturing the financial sustainability and growth of the organization, promoting professional and organizational identity through certification, and advocating and implementing a social policy and agenda
