Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)

CITI training is required for any faculty, staff, or student wishing to participate in research and data collection.

The following link will provide you with the appropriate site to register for CITI training.

CITI Training

You will register as a STUDENT RESEARCHER – UNDERGRADUATE.

You are required to do STUDENTS CONDUCTING NO MORE THAN MINIMAL RISK RESEARCH.

If you plan to work with blood, you will also need to complete the CITI BIOMEDICAL training.

Blood Lab Training Information

In order to be involved in data collection you will need to complete the blood laboratory training modules for the Exercise Science and Sports Management Department (ESSM).

The following PDF link includes all necessary Environment, Health and Safety training requirements based on lab.

EHS Training

Please use this PDF document to determine which training courses you need to complete. This is determined based on the lab in which you will be conducting research.

In order to complete training, you will need to login to KSU OwlTrain with your NetID and NetID password.

KSU OwlTrain

Once you login to OwlTrain, please go to the right-hand corner search toolbar and type in the name of the module you would like to complete.

You should complete all of the following online modules:

1) Laboratory Safety
2) Haz Waste Management
3) Bloodborne Pathogens
4) DOT HAZMAT Training
5) Radiation Safety

Each module is about 30 minutes (sometimes longer) so give yourself plenty of time to complete each one.
